EthVC @EthCC[7] — Brussels 2024!
Hosted within the Ethereum Community Conference [7] (EthCC), EthVC is back for more in 2024!
EthVC is the venture capital track of the Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC), the largest annual European Ethereum event focused on technology and community. Four intense days of conferences, networking and learning taking place July 8 to 11th, 2024 in Brussels, Belgium.
In collaboration with Ethereum France and for the past 5 years, Kaiko has been running the “VC Track” designed for the blockchain industry. The goal is to enable a more efficient way for blockchain founders to connect with investors looking to deploy capital in the industry.
Last year, we hosted 30 startups (selected from 150+ applicants) and over 80 VCs looking to deploy capital. EthVC companies have raised more than $200M in capital since our first edition in 2020!
What is the VC Track ?
EthVC aims to bridge the gap between VCs wishing to better understand the technology and discover groundbreaking projects, and blockchain projects/companies searching for funding, but with little VC network and access.
The “EthVC Track” is a unique opportunity for VCs and carefully selected blockchain-based projects to meet and exchange over an intense 3-day program.
Conferences such as EthCC are incredibly vibrant, and it can be challenging to find some quiet space for more in-depth conversations, so we decided to create a “safe haven” away from all excitement by dedicating the VC Pitch Room for 1:1 meetings between founders and investors during the afternoons. There you’ll be able to grab a refreshment, to breathe a bit and to conduct focused meetings.
There will be two part of the startup selection process: a technical review by the EthCC technical jury team as all founders have to be selected as speakers at EthCC, and a second assessment by the Kaiko team on the “investability” of the project, equity story, financials, business model, etc. and, thereby guaranteeing investors that all aspect has been pre-validated and that the project has strong legs from both business and technical standpoints. The EthCC call for speakers will be open soon and startups will soon be able to apply.
There is also an application process for investors, as we want to ensure that the number of attendees is limited and that we gather top-tier VCs that are willing and ready to deploy capital in the space.
